Yan-Bin Jia

One of the quirkier faculty members in a department not known for its personable professors. Jia has generally good English hindered by a noticable accent and nervous tic. His main quirk, though, is his long discourses on the awesomeness of such pop cultural icons as the Beatles, Elvis, and Michael Jackson, the latter of which he describes as a "triple threat" for his ability to dance, sing, and write. Jia frequently shows music videos before each class.
Academically, Jia is active in the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon, of which he is an alumnus.
