A wiki is a collaborative website. Basically, anyone can edit any page. Here at Rofflehaus you have to log in first, just so we can tell how many people actually use the place.

Some good things about wikis:

  • They handle a lot of the grunt work (making pages, linkifying things, stuff like that)
  • They have built-in organizing power (categories, lists)
  • They keep track of changes, so when a page is changed everyone knows, and if a change is bad, they can easily revert to an older (good) version of the page.
  • Chicks dig wikis

Some bad things about wikis:

  • To keep things organized some people have to go through and make sure things are in the proper categories, fix spelling mistakes, etc. But hell, some people actually like that.
  • Sometimes people like to make bullshit pages or ruin pages we already have, but that's easy to fix.
  • Some chicks don't dig wikis. They can go to hell.

You can get a quick primer on wiki syntax (i.e. how to do stuff) by checking out the Example page.
