Welch Avenue Station is a full service sports bar located on the south end of Campustown. Welch Avenue Station a.k.a. WAS only serves in glass, no cheap plastic here. There are 20 beers on tap and 22 flavors of daquiris (including vanilla ice cream and passion fruit) and serves the famous Pissed Off Japanese Minnow Farmer. As well as the Social Lubricant which is another WAS original. Home to the best frozen Mudslide in Campustown.

The Homepage is always under construction because Tater never gets around to working on it.

Great place to catch a day baseball game, especially the Cubs.

A live DJ is present from 9pm to close every night.

Beware of Crazy John, Happy Jack and Hunchback Greg. If you don't know who they are, ask your bartender or waitress to point them out and maybe you'll get a story or two.

Located on Welch Avenue below Pizza Pit, part of Campustown.

[edit] Activities

Front to back tour:

When you arrive you will notice a pinball machine to your right. WAS has an arrangement with K&D Music & Amusement to have the machine switched every few months or so with a new one, so you get a good variety of new and old machines to play.

To your left in the upper deck will be three dart boards and a Big Buck Hunter Pro machine. And again to your right on the other side of the partition next to the pinball machine, next to the bar is yet another dart board.

Moving through the middle section and to the end of the bar you'll find an electronic video machine on which you can play a variety of games and even compete statewide. These are a popular way to lose many, many quarters. Not five feet from this machine is another set on the corner of the upper DJ deck.

Looking to your left you will see a foosball table and beyond that a Silver Strike Bowling machine that operates much the same way as a Golden Tee does. If you are a fan of bowling, this machine will provide you with hours of entertainment.

Continuing on towards the back of the bar you will undoubtedly see WAS's four pool tables. These are usually well kept and refurnished when needed. Regular pool tournaments are held year round, traditionally occuring on Monday nights. If Tater is feeling happy you'll get free pool afterwards.

In the very back, dead ahead are the two bathrooms, and to the far right, another dart board.

In between the bathroom entrances are two 8-liner ticket redemption machines and an ATM. The 8-liners change when they break or it's noticed that no one plays them.

In the men's bathroom is an infamous poster of Brooke Burke hanging over the far right urinal. The poster has disappeared several times for a short periods before WAS returned another copy of the poster to its rightful place.
