The United States of America is a very large, very powerful, and very conservative country in North America. Broke free from Britain in the Revolutionary War in the late 18th Century, and declared its independance in 1776. Was the world's largest economy before the European Union formed. Ranks 3rd among all countries in area, population and per capita income, and is far and away the leader in Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Perhaps the only country in the world that would elect George W. Bush as head of state. And they did it twice.
