Plucky print journalism professor who retired after the spring of 2003.

Outside of his major, he is most remembered for being the professor who, before he joined the faculty, wrote an article about Jack Trice that sparked the movement to rename Cyclone Stadium after Trice.

He also fought a battle to change the acronym of the department of Journalism and Mass Communication to JLMC from JL MC. It ultimately failed.
