Long lines, almost always a cover, and plenty of sorority girls/jersey chasers that will never talk to you.
Located beneath Paddys, Sips is one floor, has a moderate sized dance floor and a moderate sized sitting area. Cover is generally around $3. Drinks are reasonable (about $3.50 for a mixed drink) and are reasonably good. The crowd is racially mixed- it has more diversity than any of the other bars in Ames (but still, thats not saying much). I'm not going to lie - Sips isn't classy & new like Phuel, or trendy like Element. It's , well, not really anything eyecatching. Yet for me, Sips is my favorite bar in Ames.
