Ryan Doll
From Rofflehaus
Ryan Doll (Pol Sci '05) was a member of the GSB Senate and is the third ward seat on the City Council. In 2004, he was recognized as GSB Senator of the Year. With the help of several students he helped organize the spring 2005 special election to reduce the length of City Council terms from four years to two. The final outcome was decisively against the initiative, but Doll's efforts in canvassing for the vote raised his profile within the community.
Doll, a resident of Buchanan Hall, graduated in December with a degree in Political Science and plans to attend grad school at ISU in the spring. He is actively involved with the local chapter of the Red Cross.
[edit] Issues
Doll ran for Council on a platform of improved communication within the community and changes to the city's Land Use Policy. In speeches and statements to the media, Doll has firmly opposed the new mall, has been ambivalent on the proposed county keg registration ordinance, and has opposed the opening of a new Dangerous Curves location on Welch Avenue.
