Robin Habeger
From Rofflehaus
Robin Habeger (born December 31, 1970) is Director of Business and Partnership for the College of Business and a candidate for the First Ward seat on the City Council in the upcoming election. Habeger, 34, worked at various times for the zoning boards of Ames, Story County, Marshalltown and the Iowa Department of Transportation before going back to school for her MBA and taking her current position.
Habeger, originally from West Bend, holds an MBA, and a BS and an MA in community and regional planning–all from ISU. She is a black belt in tae kwon do, and in her free time trains search-and-rescue dogs. She is actually on call for a local urban search-and-rescue agency for service in disaster relief, and helps out in a number of searches each month.
Her younger brother is StrangeTalk's own Ahab.
[edit] Issues
Habeger's main campaign issue is the management of Ames's growth as its population swells past 50,000. She supports the Wolford mall, with certain reservations, and has said she would support a more restrictive version of the proposed keg registration ordinance.
