Red route operates seven days a week. On weekdays, the time between buses is generally 20 minutes through the day (10 minutes between Ames Middle School (AMS) and campus), changing to 40 minutes in the late evening and 70 minutes at night until midnight. On Saturdays, the time between buses is 40 minutes in the morning, 20 minutes in the afternoon, and 35 minutes in the evening until 10PM. On Sundays, its 40 minutes through early evening, and 70 minutes later at night until 11:30PM.

On weekdays, time between buses is generally 20 minutes through the day (10 minutes between Ames Middle School and campus during rush hours), changing to 40 minutes in the early evening, with service ending at about 11PM. On Saturdays, the time between buses is 40 minutes until 5PM, then 70 minutes until 9:30PM. Sunday service is similar to Saturday service.

[edit] Fall 2006 changes

A route 1B bus between Ames Middle School and Lincoln Way and Beach will be added on Saturday evenings, decreasing the time between buses to 20 minutes until the end of service on Saturdays. Service will end at 10PM on Friday nights. 10-minute service time will be extended to 6:30PM on weekdays.

[edit] Special notes

During the daytime on ISU class days, Red Route service between AMS and campus is every ten minutes. (During summer, this is only from 7-9AM and 3-5:30PM.) Every other bus is a normal Red Route bus, which goes by State Gym and then back out onto Lincoln Way (labeled 1 Mall via Downtown/Hospital); the other buses go to State Gym and then follow Green Route through campus (labeled 1A Kildee-Bessey Red East or 1 Campus). If you're in doubt, ask the driver which type of bus it is.

There is a Red or Blue route bus between Friley Hall and RCA every ten minutes from 11AM-7PM on weekdays and 12PM-5PM on Saturdays.
