Randy Brown is a former assistant basketball coach. He was arrested in winter of 2003 when child pornography was found on his computer in his Hilton Coliseum office.

Served a 24-month sentence in medium-security penitentary in North Carolina.

Two of his daughters, Meredith and Natalie, died at a young age (1992 and 199?, respectively) of an obscure disease, familial rhabdomyolysis. Some have speculated that this was the root of his obsession with child pornography. In court, though, he claimed he was obsessed with pornography in general, not specifically child pornography. His laywer said that 99 percent of the 2,600 images found in Brown's possession were legal pornography.

He said he became interested in pornography in 1997.

He was caught when an Indianapolis man posed as a 15-year old girl and turned him in. On January 24, 2003, he was confronted by U.S. Postal Service detective Kevin Marshall and ISUPD computer-crime detective Aaron DeLashmutt. He pleaded with them to let him attend that night's practice. When they relented, he returned to practice but not before destroying and disposing of approximately 30 floppy disks.

Was counseled by First Evangelical Free Church pastor David Staff.

In December 2003, a psychologist report "found the defendant to be at low risk for recommitting a sexually deviant offense" and ruled out pedophilia.

Hired by Larry Eustachy in 1999. Was fired previously from his coaching position at Stetson.

Had a weekly radio gig.

Married to Mary Jo. Fort Dodge native. His brother Rick, is a sportswriter for the Des Moines Register.
