This gives one enough time to run a rent check in, drop it in the basket on the front desk, and make it back to the same bus with time to spare.

- Senior employees are usually long-time employees who began working for the company as leasing staff.
- All who work there are people who seem to enjoy what they do and are quite friendly.
- They send you a card for a free cookie for your birthday.
- They give away boxes of chocolate for some holidays.
- Late fees are $5 per day after the 1st with a max of $40.
- Extra keys are $1 a piece.
- Maintenance workers are knowledgeable and can handle most general repairs.
- PPM also manages properties in the Des Moines area through an office in West Des Moines located at Sun Prairie Apartments at 5901 Vista Drive.

They sometimes hire outside contractors for grounds keeping. Some residents have complained that parking lots, bushes and trees, bike racks have often looked unkept and unsightly, but others find the level of upkeep to be similar to other properties in Ames.
After heavy snowfall there may be delays in clearing the snow with any sign of prior snow removal difficult to see, but this is fairly standard for almost any rental property in the Ames area during major snowstorms. However, snow removal operations almost always begin as soon as the snow falls and oftentimes, the president of the company can be seen clearing snow at PPM-managed properties in Des Moines next to maintenance staff and outside contractors.
Concerns along these lines as well as other maintenance concerns can always be addressed by contacting the rental office and speaking with the maintenance staff. A member of this staff is on call 24 hours a day for maintenance emergencies.
