Old Chicago is a national pizza and pasta restaurant chain that opened to the public in Ames on July 12, 2005. They also have a large selection of beers on tap and in the bottle in both domestics and imports.

Like most pizza restaurants in town (e.g., Pizza Hut, Valentino's) they have a lunch buffet of pizza except they serve a fresh baked cookie for dessert.

[edit] Beers

The draught beers can come in three sizes

  • Mug
  • Pint
  • 25 oz. glass

Of course, they have the standard crappy domestic beers (Bud, Miller, & Coors) but they also have some import beers (e.g., Guiness, Bass, Harp, Blue Moon). They also have on tap what they call "craft beers" which are basically the more expensive domestic beers.

[edit] Getting there

To get to the restaurant, take South 16th Street from either Elwood Drive or Duff Avenue and turn south on the street where Earl May Garden Center is at (South Kellogg Avenue). Then turn at the Old Chicago sign.

Previously, there had been a frontage road to Duff Avenue but this has recently (as of July 2005) been closed.
