Nick Bisignano
From Rofflehaus
Nick Bisignano (? – December 27, 2004) was the son of Tony Bisignano (former state senator of Iowa) that died in a car crash on December 27, 2004. The car was being driven over 90 mph by Bisignano and struck a wall, took down two poles and subsequently dragged one for a block until the car came to a stop on its top at the corner of SE 5th Street & E Pleasantview Drive in Des Moines. Bisignano had a BAC (0.204) more than twice that of the legal limit (0.08) while his passanger, Corey Wheeler, was completely sober. Wheeler survived the crash but had
- burst right eardrum (permanently deaf now)
- fractured:
- seven bones in his face
- two vertebrae
- skull
- nose
- wrist
- collarbone
- 12 ribs
Bisignano had drank illegally purchased alcohol by Gino Pane whom pled guilty on August 19, 2005 and sentenced to two years in prison on September 29, 2005.
Bisignano was a star baseball and football player for Lincoln High School and he made himself a shining example of why you shouldn't drink and drive.
The death of Bisignano has spurred yet another bill with a purpose of legislating government paternity. Although it has not been passed, it is referred to as Nick's Law.
[edit] Quotes
- Tony Bisignano: "I told the kids, 'I saw the car. I saw Nick's body. Not much can bother me after that. I know my son better now that he's dead than I knew him when he was alive."
