Mediacom is the name of the company that supplies cable TV to the Iowa State campus and to most of Ames.
If you live in the dorms or Frederiksen Court, then you're stuck with Mediacom.
Mediacom also provides internet service.

Mediacom often offers deals where if you're a new customer, you get 6 months of cable and internet for a low price, like $29.99. So since your lease is a year anyhow, you can have one roommate sign up for mediacom for the first 6 months, then cancel, then have the other roommate sign up for mediacom for the remaining 6 months.
