Matthew Goodman is an alumni of ISU. He also owns the company Smiles & Gyros, and for that he is sometimes endearingly refered to as The Gyro Man. He co-owns the Flying Burrito with Robert Moore. Goodman also serves as one of the two at-large member of the Ames City Council.

His biography 1 is notably the most personal, listing his favorite movie (The Insider), book (The Fountainhead), president (Ulysses S. Grant), and quote ("He, who knows only his own side of the case, knows little of that." – John Stuart Mill). It is of little surprise, then, that he also writes a blog 2.
