Kate's review: I lived in one of their Nevada apartments. It was incredibly cheap ($375/mo for a 2Br/2Ba), allowed pets, and was HUGE. Ugly building, but safe area. For the most part, they were really fast about maintenence, and they were always courteous. Pet friendly (or at least cat friendly) -- almost every apartment in the 9-plux had a cat or two! They didn't charge me any cleaning fees and I got all my deposit back.
Fred's review: I lived in one of their houses on Carroll Avenue for a couple of years. The place was a dive--the exterior was falling apart, we had chipmunks living in the walls, the roof leaked, the screen porch was no longer screened, &c.--but the interior was in decent condition and whenever we complained about something, the landlord came to fix it pretty quickly. I think the problems with the house had more to do with the property owner, Dodds Rentals, not wanting to give the Martin group too much money to maintain the house. From looking around town, it seems like the properties Martin actually owns are in much better shape than the ones they just manage. Anyway, rent was okay and their employees are cool so they're probably a safe choice of landlord.
