July 1: In 1933, Albert Storms, 6th president of ISU, dies. July 1: In 2001, Dr. Gregory Geoffroy becomes 14th president of ISU July 4: In 1859, a group gathered in an area north-west of, what is now, the armory to hold a celebration for the creation of the State Agricultural College and Model Farm. Also, in 1976, the Farm House Museum opens for exhibition. July 11: In 1958, Charles Friley, 9th president of ISU, dies. July 25: In 1895, Margaret McDonald Stanton dies which later caused her husband to donated the first 10 bells for the Campanile. Margaret Hall was also named in Stanton's honor. |
