An old crank of a professor who toes the line between earning hate and complete respect from his pupils. Most famous for his completely anal grading methods, which penalize for such trivial (in the world of many engineers, at least) errors as spelling and sloppily written formulas. Many students have been thankful for the good habits that Kruempel instills in them later in their engineering career, if they continue to want an engineering career after his class.
