James Hilliard has taught Engineering Statics since about 2001, when he resumed teaching after a very long time buried in research. It still kind of shows--he spends a lot of time in lecture on random tangents like the right-hand rule ("now turn the crank!") and how to do such and such on your TI-89 or above. However, Dr. Hilliard is very polite and patient so his classes are still pretty good. It helps that he has one of the most relaxing voices on campus.

Nobody's sure how much hair he actually has up there under that bullet-proof part of his, though no one would even notice if he weren't always wearing the best hats of anyone in the entire college. Just drop by his office sometime in the winter--you'll see. This man is dapper.
