Greg Maxwell is one of the best professors in the Mechanical Engineering department--since joining ISU in 1985, he has received at least a dozen awards for his teaching. His lectures are fast-paced and crammed full of information, but he is a heckuva great guy and is more than willing to help you out if you're having trouble.

Dr. Maxwell usually teaches thermodynamics but has been reassigned to sophomore design to replace Jess Comer, who was recently 86'ed. Before coming to Iowa State, he studied and taught at Purdue and worked as a nuclear scientist at Oak Ridge.
