Built by the Ben Cole & Son construction company in 1936 – 1937?.

Originally, there were two railroad spans over Grand Avenue, but when the railroad which linked Ames to Slater was taken out of service in the 1970s?, the southern bridge was removed. Parts of that railroad right-of-way are still visible to this day.
