Etta Budd

Etta May Budd (? – ?) was the daughter of Joseph Budd and an art teacher at Simpson College. While at Simpson, George Washington Carver was a student of her's. Budd encouraged Carver to not just paint plants but to study them, which led him to ISU where Budd's father was a professor in horticulture.

Budd studied art in the "East" but returned to the midwest to teach.

Budd died nearly penniless at a retirement home in Boone
