According to many dictionaries and textbooks, Economics is the study of how human beings allocate scarce resources to produce various objects and how they are distributed among society.
At ISU, Economics is a department located in Heady Hall. It offers BS degrees from two colleges, LAS (Economics) and Agriculture (Agricultural Business). The department also has a thriving graduate program, which has been in operation for over ninety years. Currently, Arne Hallam is the chair of the department.
