Dead Week

From Rofflehaus

The Dead Week is the week that preceeds Finals Week. It is thus named because faculty members are advised against giving heavy-load tasks for the week, to allow students adequate time to study and prepare for the upcoming final examinations. Thus, with few exceptions, any major assignments for the course should be due before Dead Week.

It has been reported in the past, however, that faculty members don't always strictly follow these guidelines. Thus, the name Dead Week can also have a more alarming interpretation: the need to complete several major assignments and study for multiple finals at the same time will lead to sleep deprivation, increased irritability, and stress.

Rest assured that this has not caused any actual death... yet.

[edit] Trivia

A few notable exceptions during this week:

  • Free coffee in MU Food Court (double check!)
  • Copyworks open late (but aren't assignments due before deadweek? double check!)
