The Department of Chemistry is one of the departments in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Based in Gilman Hall, the department offers a large undergraduate program, nine different areas of graduate research, its own machine and chemical shops and a popular departmental club. ISU also sponsors an honor society for women in chemistry.
