The grand dame of Ames dining, on the west end of Main Street, about a block east of the Grand Avenue overpass. Dark, heavy decor features still life paintings, dark wood, heavy drapery, flocked wallpaper, that sort of thing. Massive DuPont Corian bar, with seating for meals available in the bar. Has a back room available for private functions. Most any job interview as part of a national search (e.g., for faculty positions, dean, etc) probably includes at least one meal here. Takes reservations.
