Ames hates students

Despite being the reason that Ames has a population of 53,000+ rather than 1,500, Ames really likes to stick it to students.

So here's a list of things Ames has done to us:

The Couch Ordinance.
The Occupancy Ordinance.
The Drink buffet ban.
Enforcing noise and crowd-control ordinances gives the police too much power.
The Parking ordinances requiring alternate-side parking are ridiculous.
Keg registration. (proposed)
They pass most of these goddamned ordinances during the summer, when the students aren't around.
The 2004 VEISHEA riot was blamed entirely on students, with no mention of excessive Police force.
Despite the urge to Claim Ames, lots of Out of state students still pay higher tuition. In all fairness, this is a State of Iowa thing, but it still pisses us off.
Holy shit, did you know it's a $10 ticket to park on your front lawn? Fuck that. It's only like $3 to park at an expired meter!
Landlords are slow to remedy complaints by students because they know we'll leave in 4 years and not pass on news of their shitty service. Hopefully we can fix that.
