The Ames Police Department is worse than your home town cop. Officers have two tasks in life: To give you tickets for drinking too much and to waste city resources in the process. On any given weekend night, you see can see three squad cars driving through Welch Avenue within five minutes of each other. Unlike the ISUPD, Ames police officers carry guns with real ammunition.
