According to the Encyclopedia Galactica, "[ethanol] is a colourless volatile liquid formed by the fermentation of sugars."

The chemical formula is CnH2n+1OH for alcohols and C2H5OH for ethanol.

Can be made by fermenting many carbon-based substances, including corn, fruits, wheat, potatoes, and marijuana.

Consumption of alcohol is known to lead to blissful contentment, an uptick in sense of humor, a drop in standards, sex, rioting, and unwanted encounters with the ISUPD. The most popular alcoholic beverage among college students is beer.
